Rana Verona’s technical staff for the 2024/2025 season is enriched with a new element: alongside Coach Stoytchev and Coach Simoni there will also be Alessandro Marchesan, who will take on the role of assistant coach of the first team. A profile that knows the Verona Volley environment well, where for years he has looked after the growth of the boys in the U17 selection as head coach. The Veronese coach will also continue to follow the training of the Verona Youth Sector.

Born in Peschiera del Garda on 20 April 1994, after a brief career as a player between Serie C and Serie B as a libero, Marchesan began his career on the bench in 2015 when he joined the youth staff of Silvolley, at the same time also following the Treviso U16 team . In 2017 he arrived in Verona, where he first became assistant coach of the U16s and then first coach of U17, U16, U15 and U14. Since 2021 he has been one of the leading coaches of the Verona Volley Youth Sector. Only in the last season, at the helm of the U17 team did he win the Verona Cup, silver in the category championship and promotion to Serie D. In 2021 he was also appointed selector of the Veneto regional representative team, while previously he had been for the provincial selection.

This is the comment of president Stefano Fanini: “The technical staff of the first team is enriched with a figure who fully embodies the values of our Club, as he has already demonstrated in recent years during his activity with the Youth Sector teams. Alessandro has been with us for many years and makes commitment, dedication and attention to detail the cornerstones of his profession. The work done with young people, which also led him to become a selector for the regional representative, will benefit the growth of our team. Furthermore, he has the necessary enthusiasm that we look for in each of our collaborators. On behalf of Verona Volley I wish him good luck with this new experience.”

“For me it is a source of great pride and satisfaction to become part of the operational machine of the first team – declared Alessandro Marchesan – In recent years I have had the opportunity to learn a lot from the various members of the staff when I collaborated during some training sessions and now I am happy with the opportunity I was given. Working every day alongside professionals who have been permanently in the SuperLega for a long time represents an important step forward in my career. Verona is an ambitious project that aims to improve from season to season and I will put my all into making my contribution. I can’t wait to get started.”
