The presentation of the calendars of the Superlega, Serie A2 and Serie A3 championships was held today at the Zanhotel & Meeting Centergross in Bentivoglio (BO). After the exciting promotion achieved last season, Volley Banca Macerata will be involved in the A2 tournament in a competitive and spectacular single group, which will open on 6 October and will close, as regards the Regular Season, on 16 March.
In the debut match, coach Castellano’s red and whites will host Abba Pineto at the Banca Macerata Forum, so the fans will have the opportunity to discover the new Volley Banca Macerata up close already at their first seasonal outing. The red and whites will then close the Regular Season at the home of Consar Ravenna.
There are fourteen teams in the A2 championship and among these there is another from the Marche region: the heartfelt derby against Virtus Volley Fano, opponents in recent seasons in A3, will be renewed again this year, with the first match scheduled for the second of championship, away for the red and whites, and then on 29 December the return match in Macerata.
The dates of the Del Monte Coppa Italia Serie A2 have also been revealed: the Round of 16 will take place on 6, 13 and 21 April, the tournament will continue in the first weeks of May and then conclude with the Final on 11 May. The Super Cup will instead be played on May 18th.
