The new red and white spiker comes from Bulgaria, where he boasts an important career with the shirts of Levski Sofia and Deya Volley, while in the last season he played with SKV Montana. “I chose Macerata because it represents everything I need: the perfect environment to grow further, an efficient organization and the ambition to aim high”, these are the first words of Samuil Valchinov on his choice to come to Italy.
“When I was little I always followed the Italian volleyball championship so I know the great Macerata tradition in volleyball well. Then I heard everyone speak well of the city and the Marche, I can’t wait to get to Macerata.” What do you expect from this first season in Italy? “I want to do well in the red and white shirt and take Macerata as high as possible.”
Valchinov has also earned a call up to the Bulgarian national team and in recent weeks he is playing in the Volleyball Nations League, “It doesn’t surprise me that he is part of his national team’s roster, in my opinion he is the best receiver Bulgaria has”, comments the DG Italo Vullo, “He is a complete player, very good in all the fundamentals of the second line but he is also excellent in attack, good at batting. He is an athlete with a sure performance and an added value for Macerata.”
