Born in 1991, sixteenth season in the Cantù jersey, which makes him one of the last remaining flags in the world of volleyball, and the “wall” of 300 matches in the second national volleyball category has already been broken. And from this season also Captain of Campi Reali Cantù, which will compete for the thirteenth time (the twelfth in a row) in the Serie A2 Credem Banca championship. We are talking about Luca Butti, part of President Ambrogio Molteni’s team since 2009, and among the undisputed protagonists since then. He therefore inherits the “pecetta” that Dario Monguzzi has worn in the last seven championships. But it is not the first time for “Buts”: it had already happened in the 2021/2022 season, with Monguzzi out for the whole year, and he was the first libero to have this opportunity in the Serie A Credem Banca championships together with Riccardo Goi of Consar RCM Ravenna.

“I am happy that Dario Monguzzi left me this legacy after so many years – confesses the new Cantù captain -. I thank the Coach (Alessandro Mattiroli, ed.) for the appointment: becoming Captain of Cantù is a great stimulus for me. I had already done it a few years ago as a replacement for Dario, but this year is different. I really care about doing well: I have always given 100%, but now I will try to give 110% because the Captain always has to put in something more. For me this is really important. I will definitely do my best both on and off the pitch because I care a lot about it.”
