Cucine Lube Civitanova will try to get back on its feet within friendly walls in the fourth round of the 5th Place Play Off Group. Tomorrow, Sunday 14 April (6pm live on Volleyball TV and Radio Arancia), the red and whites will host Cisterna Volley on the penultimate day of the six-team one-way group which will precede the Semi-finals to gain access to the Challenge Cup 2025. Given the rankings , the match against the team of Guillermo Falasca could be the last home match of the season even in the event of qualification for the next phase.

At 3 points in cohabitation with Pallavolo Padova, but fifth in the rankings due to the lower set quotient compared to them, Romano Giannini’s men must prevail against their rivals from Pontine, who at the moment have gained an extra point. A defeat, however, could jeopardize passage to the semi-finals in a single match on April 22nd.

5th Place Play Off Group Calendar

Lube will close the Play Off Group in 5th place on Wednesday 17 April (8.30 pm) at PalaBancaSport against Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza.

Play Off 5th Place – The formula

The four losing teams in the Scudetto Play Off Quarter Finals and the 9th and 10th ranked teams at the end of the Regular Season play a one-way round-robin tournament which includes 5 matches for each team. The 4 best teams play in the Semifinals and Final in a single match at the home of the best ranked team at the end of the tournament. The winner is qualified for the 2025 Challenge Cup.

Cisterna’s latest lineup

In the home match won 3-1 against Padova, Cisterna took to the field with the former red and white Baranowicz as setter and Faure as opposite, Mazzone and Rossi as central players, Bayram and Ramon as laterals, Finauri as libero.

Romano Giannini (coach Cucine Lube Civitanova) speaks:

“A very difficult match awaits us because we are coming off two clear defeats. This situation makes preparing for the match against a rival who will arrive in Civitanova with a lot of competitive energy more complicated. At the moment we are a bit fragile. We are training hard to raise the level of our technique and win again. A success would help us get unstuck!”
