The first commitment of the Cucine Lube Civitanova in 2024 is the trip to Brianza for the inside or outside match of the quarterfinals of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega. On Wednesday 3 January (8pm), the red and whites will be on stage again at the Opiquad Arena, conquered in four sets on Saturday 30 December 2023. Chicco Blengini’s men will challenge the Mint Vero Volley Monza in search of the pass to the Final Four, a goal that has escaped in the last two years. Thus begins a new adventure for Lube in the event which has reached its 46th chapter.
In the trophy that awards the tricolor cockade the two teams found themselves face to face for the third time. In the quarterfinals of the 2018/19 edition, Civitanova eliminated Monza with the advantage of a tie break at the end of a daring match at the Eurosuole Forum, while in 2019/20, again in the quarterfinals on the taraflex of the Civitanova palas, the Cucineri defeated the Brianza team 3-1 .
Match number 25 in history between the two teams. Favorable tradition for the red and whites, who won 20 times, losing 4 matches (3 in the regular seasons and one in the Semifinal of the Del Monte® Supercoppa).
7 successes in archive: in 2020/21 and 2019/20 in Bologna against Perugia, in 2016/17 in Bologna against Trento, in 2008/09 in Forlì against Cuneo, in 2007/08 in Milan against Rome, in 2002/03 in Trento against Treviso, in 2000/01 in Ancona, again against Treviso. The 2001 Italian Cup is a significant trophy, the first ever won by the red and white club.
In the event of a victory in the single match against Monza, Lube would achieve their twelfth qualification for the Final Four in the last 14 editions. The red and whites want to make up for the eliminations suffered against Milan in the last two years and thus access the Final Four on 27 and 28 January at the Unipol Arena in Bologna.
Adventure no. 30 of Lube Civitanova in the Italian Cup.
