Cucine Lube Civitanova returns to Brianza for a challenge from inside or outside. Tomorrow, Sunday 24 March (6pm with live Volleyball TV and Radio Arancia) the men of Chicco Blengini will take to the field at the OpiquadArena, in the presence of Mint Vero Volley Monza, for the fourth act of the Play Off Quarter Finals against the collective of Massimo Eccheli. Down 2-1 in the series after the first three direct clashes, the Italian vice-champions want to complete the tie, with the push of the Predators away, and banish the ghosts in Monza of the misstep in the single match of the Italian Cup in the Lombardy venue and the second face-to-face match of the Play Off challenge in the best of five matches, lost in Monza on March 10th. Last Sunday’s comeback within the friendly walls gives us hope, just as the thought of having already desecrated the Monza facility in the regular season at the end of December is encouraging.
The best-of-five quarterfinal series
In case of victory tomorrow we would go to the big one, i.e. Race 5, which would be played on Wednesday 27 March (8.30 pm) at the Eurosuole Forum.
Monza’s latest lineup
In last Sunday’s match in Civitanova, Mint fell at the tie break after appearing with the Kreling-Szwarc diagonal, Maar and Takahashi on the side, Di Martino and Galassi in the center, Gaggini libero.
Mattia Bottolo (Cucine Lube Civitanova spiker) speaks:
“We approach this challenge with pride because despite the elimination in the Champions League semi-final we are proud to be back among the top four teams in Europe. Now the focus is on the Play Offs and in Monza there will absolutely not be a dejected team, but a charged and combative Lube, ready to roll up its sleeves in a tough field against an uncomfortable rival. Winning matters and we will try to fight openly, with the right patience. We will do everything we can to get to Game 5 and play everything on our pitch.”
Massimo Eccheli (coach Mint Vero Volley Monza) speaks:
“A wonderful opportunity is approaching for us to achieve a high-profile objective. We know that we will have to take the field for yet another battle and we are working to be ready to face it.”
The referees of the match: Alessandro Cerra (BO) and Mauro Goitre (TO)
Match number 29: the teams have met 28 times: in the overall balance Cucine Lube is ahead with 21 victories to 7.
