Last training sessions of 2024 at the Eurosuole Forum for Cucine Lube Civitanova. Currently -2 from third place in Piacenza in the Regular Season standings, with 27 points under their belt in cohabitation with Verona, but with the trip to Padua still to be recovered and therefore with the possibility of regaining the lowest step of the podium in a move, the team of Giampaolo Medei closes the calendar year by reaching the Final Four of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega. Thanks to the success achieved over the weekend at the Eurosuole Forum against Milan in the tie break, the tenth of the season within friendly walls in as many matches, captain Fabio Balaso and his teammates have obtained the pass for the F4 on 25 and 26 January at the Unipol Arena in Bologna. A goal never achieved in the last three years.
2024 opened with the defeat in Brianza on January 3rd in the Quarterfinals of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia, in a competitive season which then ended with the unfortunate elimination at the hands of Trento in the Semi-final of the CEV Champions League, which was still worth access to the next Club World Cup, and the by no means predictable triumph in the Play Off Challenge, characterized by the resignation of Chicco Blengini in the preliminary round and the decisive exploits also in away trip with Romano Giannini at the helm.
