Another evocative farewell at Cucine Lube Civitanova. The second cycle in red and white of one of the most iconic players of Italian and international volleyball ends. Ivan Zaytsev, who had already raised the Super Cup (2012) and the Scudetto (2014) to the sky in his first two years as a chef, leaves Lube at the end of the next three years, on the strength of another Italian SuperLega Credem Banca title (2022) and two seasons without trophies, but with silver in the Super Cup (2022 and 2023) and a Scudetto lost in Game 5 of the Play Off Final in Trento (2023). Among the athletes most appreciated across the board by Italian and foreign fans even off the field for his innate empathy, the Tsar expressed his gratitude to the Lube environment without skimping on emotions.

Greetings from Ivan Zaytsev:

“I spent five amazing seasons at Cucine Lube Civitanova, winning in both cycles. I arrived as a bet, a young man carefully followed who came from A2, but who had already changed his skin several times and was fighting to find his identity beyond out of the shadow of his father. When I wore the red and white shirt for the first time I was surrounded by established champions who welcomed me immediately, but I certainly didn’t want to disfigure myself! married and I ‘started’ Sasha. My adult life began right here. After many other changes, countries, teams and roles, I returned, but I was a little afraid of ruining that indelible memory jealously guarded within me. Despite the injury and my first operation, I got back on my feet thanks to a team full of champions, winning my third Scudetto in volleyball here. It would be too easy to say that I only take away these memories, the ones that have the flavor of victory, because for being in this Club also requires something else, it’s a mentality you must have, an insatiable hunger, an incessant desire to improve. All this must flow through your veins, as well as the red and white blood. I must give special thanks to my teammates, the technical staff, doctors, physiotherapists and all those people who tirelessly and more in the shadows work to keep the club high in all aspects.

A.S. Volley Lube thanks Ivan Zaytsev, an exemplary professional, for having transmitted his great energy to the red and white people by fully embracing the Club’s ambitions and always making himself available. Best wishes go to the Tsar for a future as a winner in all courts.
