« “Love me again”.
There are moments in life when everything seems to collapse, certainties falter and criticism turns into long shadows that obscure even the most deep-rooted passions. Last Cuneo Volley season put me to the test. A second place in the regular season, full of hope and expectations, was abruptly shattered with an elimination in the playoff quarterfinals. What followed was a period of reflection, but also of profound internal challenge.
The criticisms were not long in coming. Coming from every direction, they came like raging waves, trying to tear down the foundations of our project. However, perhaps the hardest battle was not the one fought outside, but the one inside me. I faced days in which I felt alone, crushed by the weight of unfulfilled expectations and the incessant voice of those who only saw our failures.
In these dark moments it is easy to get lost, motivation seems to fade, the passion that once burned inside you begins to seem like a distant memory, but it is precisely when everything seems lost that the true essence of what moves us emerges. Volleyball is not just a sport, it is a part of me, a part of my identity and my life. And so, in the midst of the storm, I realized that I couldn’t let the darkness suffocate that light.
One day, while I was looking for a way out of these thoughts, I started walking, headphones on my ears with Spotify Radio on, perhaps unconsciously looking for a sign, a moment of peace. And then, as if it had been written in destiny, the notes of “Amandoti” by Gianna Nannini started playing. “Loving you tires me; It empties me inside.”
Those words weren’t just the lyrics of a song, they were a call. A reminder of everything that binds me to Cuneo, to the team, to this city that I have learned to love as an inseparable part of myself. “Love me again” has become more than just a slogan, it has become the symbol of a promise, an invitation to rediscover the love that binds us, even when things seem difficult.
It was at that moment that I proposed to our communication the claim for the season ticket campaign for the 24/25 season. “Love me again” is not just a phrase, it is an invitation to continue believing, not to stop fighting for what we love, even when the road becomes tortuous. It’s a declaration of a bond that goes beyond on-field results, a bond that is rooted in the very heart of this community. This claim was born in a moment of vulnerability, but it is precisely from vulnerability that the most authentic strengths are born.
