Allianz Milano’s latest purchase arrives in the week before the start of the 2024/2025 SuperLega Credem Banca season. The president of Allianz Milano, Lucio Fusaro, wanted to give a gift to the many fans of coach Roberto Piazza’s team. This is the central defender from the Marche region Jacopo Larizza, in his last season at Cucine Lube Civitanova, the team with which he won the Scudetto in 2021 and the Italian Cup in 2021.

A 204cm centre-back, 26 years old, Larizza already has eight Serie A championships under her belt, four in the Super League (three years at Lube and one in Taranto) and as many in A2 (Bergamo, Santa Croce and Potenza Picena). The central defender from Macerata has participated in numerous national team teams from the youth categories up to the Senior category of Fefè De Giorgi.

Larizza completes a quartet of central defenders that has few comparisons in Italy and Europe, namely captain Matteo Piano, Edoardo Caneschi, Jordan Schnitzer and Jacopo Larizza. By virtue of the regulation, since Larizza was registered after the closure of the Volley Mercato, he will be able to be fielded from the fourth day of the SuperLega Credem Banca, or from the always awaited external derby against Mint Vero Volley Monza.
