Uros Kovacevic and Alessandro Bovolenta, respectively new spiker and new opposite tackle for Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, arrived at PalabancaSport and had their first sessions in the weight room and on the taraflex.
Kovacevic and Bovolenta, who participated with the Serbia and Italy shirt in the recent Paris Olympics, joined Robertlandy Simon, Robbert Andringa, Leonardo Scanferla, Fabio Ricci, Nicola Salsi and Moussé Gueye who have already been working under the orders of coach Andrea Anastasi and his staff.
Uros Kovacevic: “After a few years outside Italy I had the desire to return to play in the Italian championship and I am happy to have arrived in Piacenza. I had always told some people that I was convinced that one day I would come to play in Piacenza and so it was. I’m in a great team, with a great technical staff and an excellent club, I expect a good season and we can play it with everyone, Perugia is definitely the favourite, it’s a team with great champions but ours isn’t really bad either. I’m sorry not to play in Europe because this team deserves Europe, we will conquer it next season.”
Alessandro Bovolenta: “Returning to Piacenza is certainly a great emotion for me, entering this PalabancaSport is like going back in time. It was a long and important summer, now I’m in Piacenza with the desire to do well, to work to grow, have fun and entertain those who come to see us. I’m happy to have landed in this club, in this team where there are so many champions, it’s a great opportunity for me as well as an emotion. Playing here will be wonderful.”
