A promising young American jumps and sweats with the Cucine Lube Civitanova to keep the level of technical sessions high during athletic training. The hitter Justin Todd, born in 2005, 200 cm tall and fresh from his year playing for Hawaii University, an adventure that ended with third place in the Big West Conference and ninth place in the NCAA, arrived in Italy in recent days to undertake a 14-day summer internship in red and white at the court of Giampaolo Medei. Roommate of Davi Tenorio, the big American boy will conclude his Civitanova experience on August 31, when he will reach Bologna and fly to the States.

Justin, what are your impressions during this internship at Lube?

Todd: “For me it is a real honor to train in an arena and on a field where I have seen so many legends play. Even if the championship is stopped, when I look towards the stands I can feel the energy of the Italian fans who support Lube. Working here is very nice and I hope that one day I can return to Civitanova Marche to give myself a chance.”

From Hawaii to Civitanova Marche, what do you think of this city?

“I must say that I immediately liked it, a truly beautiful city. Meanwhile, it is bathed by the sea like Hawaii, a first strong point for me. Here too I eat excellent Sushi and many other fish-based dishes. I also love swimming, so Civitanova is promoted and I consider it an ideal place to live.”

At the end of August you will return to your homeland. Do you think that one day we will see you again in Italy, perhaps in the SuperLega Credem Banca championship?

“I believe I have the requirements to compete even in a tough tournament like the top Italian series. I am confident in my abilities and thinking of achieving a lofty goal like this reflects my mentality. I sincerely hope to be able to return and play in the SuperLega one day!”
