The fourth week of preparation for Joy Volley Gioia del Colle ended in Tricase, yesterday hosting Aurispa Lecce for the first of six joint training sessions that will lead the red and whites to their debut in the Credem Banca A3 series championship scheduled for October 13th .
An exciting and hard-fought test match which, well played by both teams (the final result was 2-2), provided good indications to coach Sandro Passaro for the continuation of the preparation journey.
“The joint training with Aurispa Lecce gives us some ideas to work on – begins the red and white coach at the end of his team’s first outing of the season -. Despite the moment of the season, in which the workloads make themselves felt , the two teams have already shown good game patterns on the field for large stretches of the match. The boys put in a lot of intensity. The performance was very good. I asked them for some things, they were very careful in respecting them. From tomorrow we will return to work with the aim of giving continuity to our game.”
The fourth week of training was also marked by the appointment as captain of Romolo Mariano who, to our microphones, declared:
“I am very happy to have been elected captain. It is the first time that it has happened to me. I will try to interpret this role having as points of reference the positive examples I have had in my career. I will make the experience gained in recent years available to the team and I will try to always be of help to the younger ones. A good group is forming, united and cohesive both on and off the pitch. This month, which separates us from the start of the championship, will help us get to know each other better and find ourselves as a team , the right alchemy, essential to obtain the best possible results”.
