The A.S. Volley Lube says goodbye to central defender Jacopo Larizza. On the eve of the 2024/25 tournament, the athlete from Macerata concludes his second experience in the red and white after just one season. Raised in the Cuciniero nursery and trained in the Paoloni Appignano, to then be part of the Cucine Lube Civitanova on a permanent basis in 2020/21, the year of the “double” Scudetto-Coppa Italia, the central defender then cut his teeth in A2 and SuperLega before return to base in the summer of 2023, drawing applause from the fans with his entrances in very delicate phases of matches before the unfortunate injury in training that prevented him from finishing his competitive year. The athlete returned to the top during the summer, as demonstrated by the quality of his performances in the preseason tests, but the possibility of playing more in another Club and the concomitance of the return of Marko Podrascanin to the red and white home pushed the player and the club to make a decision.
Greetings from Jacopo Larizza: “I am a true Marche native, who also grew up from a sporting point of view in my region, so I would like to thank Lube Volley for what it has represented for me. In the past I went to play for other teams and it’s about to happen again. Leaving my land and my loved ones again will involve sacrifices, but I am excited and eager to show my worth! Perhaps there is a small regret and it dates back to last year, namely the injury in training that ended my season early, just when I had gained space by contributing to the victory in Game 3 and Game 4 of the Play-Off quarter-finals.
