Second Iranian in Lube jersey
The only compatriot to have worn the kitchen kit in the history of the Club is the opposite Amir Ghafour in 2019/20, a successful season for Lube.
Beppe Cormio (general director of Lube Volley):
“I am really satisfied with this operation because we are talking about a boy who until a few months ago was absolutely unknown. We had noticed it almost by chance following other players and international youth events. In recent times Poriya has carved out a leading role for himself in his championship by taking a starting shirt and playing in the Scudetto Final in Iran, finishing as the best player. In VNL our new spiker is establishing himself as a starter also in the Iranian selection, in the last two matches he has scored 23 and 27 points against top-ranking opponents such as the United States. This means that the boy is growing and will be an important asset for our attack. I can’t wait to be able to admire him live and share this great hope with our fans.”
