On Wednesday 21 February, Geetit spiker Leonardo Baciocco was a guest on the Sport Day by Day broadcast hosted by Matteo Fogacci on Made in Bo TV.

What are your next appointments?

This week we have a trip to Cagliari: a very important match also because there are five games left until the end of the championship, so now every point is truly decisive. Cagliari is a tough team, who spent the entire championship at the top of the table. After Sunday’s game, we’ll play straight away at home on Wednesday night, so we’re in for a nice tour de force with these two games in four days.

The last time in Sardinia was against Sarroch. I remember well how it was supposed to be a bit of a revival game, but unfortunately it went badly. In the last four games you have done much better.

Let’s say that that match in Sarroch left a bit of a bad taste in our mouth, because after a somewhat difficult start we had approached it well and could have taken the match home, and instead it ended with a 3-1 for They. This second round was very particular: the medium-high-ranking teams started to lose their rhythm a bit and therefore gave away some points, while the lower-ranking teams, such as Sarroch, gained big points. We are not only creators of our own destiny, but we are also witnesses of the results of our other opponents

What is the situation of this team, CUS Cagliari?

It is in the upper middle part of the ranking. Sarroch was a contender for our positions and still is now with three points behind us, while CUS Cagliari, if I’m not mistaken, is in fifth place in the table

What has changed in your head in the last three or four games?

There is certainly a bit of awareness of our means, we are a bit more determined and aggressive in wanting to bring a result, some victories at home. Now we are finally all of us, and this has allowed us to train with more intensity and be able to create a solid game system. For example, in the last match with Mirandola we didn’t have a great performance, but we did well to bring home a good 3-0 by not allowing them to impose their game. We did well even though unfortunately our opposite team got hurt in the very first seconds of the match and we had to play with a new formation. This has certainly given us confidence and awareness to be able to better face these last five games that we have left.
