Two days in the company of Mauro Berruto at the end of a season that will remain in history and at the beginning of a summer that promises to be very rich. The M&G Volleyball School has in fact added yet another appointment of its Sports Festival at the culmination of a week of official celebrations, thus also launching the second edition of “Sportiva-Mente”, which officially takes its first steps, after the masterclass with Zorzi and Gabrielli.
On Sunday afternoon, the former coach of the Italian national volleyball team and current parliamentarian of the republic held his hour and a half lecture show on the topic of coaching, with his feet on that taraflex that he had stepped on at the beginning of the years Ninety as a coach and for him this time he has returned to “wearing the shoes” of the theater. A journey full of ideas and references, capable of taking the viewer by the hand and making him travel, like Ulysses returning to Ithaca, from ancient Greece and the first Olympic Games to the words on victory and defeat of the NBA champion Giannis Antetokoumpo. The common thread was the discovery of the gesture of training, along many stages: volleyball and archery, victory and the perfection of the body as well as the fatigue and agony of effort, told by drawing on the language of literature , poetry, art. All framed around three principles: falling in love with what you do, trying to do it responsibly and in times of difficulty, training on desire even before method.
On Monday morning, however, again at the Grottazzolina palace, Berruto, this time in the company of the TwoTwins – Fabrizio and Valerio Salvatori – met over 150 girls and boys in second and eighth grade from the ISC schools of Montegiorgio and Falerone. A beautiful moment of discussion and true dialogue, in three steps: a first provocation entrusted to the participants, who filled the palas with post-it notes, each handing in that yellow piece of paper a personal thought on sport; then we listened to Berruto’s lesson; finally there was a long exchange of questions and answers, in which students asked about talent and commitment, inclusion and victory, school and sport. Like last year, this time too the opening of the festival to local schools proved to be a truly precious moment for everyone.
