For the 2024/2025 season the group led by coach Castellano will also be able to count on the quality and experience of Giuseppe Ottaviani. The spiker has arrived for two seasons in Cantù in A2 and has a long career behind him in the category, where he wore the shirts of Tuscania, Ortona, Spoleto, Castellana Grotte and Siena. “After the last few years in Lombardy I wanted to get closer to central Italy,” explains the spiker born in ’91, “And Macerata is the perfect place for me: I join an important club that I’ve only heard good things about. Plus I know coach Castellano and it will be a pleasure to work together for the first time.”
You arrive in a renewed group, which will be able to benefit from your experience in A2, “I have encountered different opponents among my new teammates, I know that a competitive roster has been built, with players who have great potential and more experienced athletes. The jump in category to A2 is important, the game changes a lot as the physical level rises and affects all the fundamentals. I and the other players who know this category better will be able to help the younger ones, I am convinced that our experience will represent an additional weapon for the team.”
A thought confirmed by coach Castellano himself, “Ottaviani is among the most experienced athletes in the group and above all a very solid player. We rely on his qualities and experience. When the opportunity arose to bring him to Macerata we had no doubts: he will be a precious resource in an A2 championship that promises to be very competitive.”
