The Smartsystem Essence Hotels Fano pre-season is now getting underway and, after two weeks of intense work, it will hold its first joint training sessions.

Two tests are scheduled: starting on Wednesday with the match in Civitanova against Cucine Lube of the Superlega, and then continuing next Saturday with the home match against Porto Viro.

The first two weeks of training were essentially positive at Virtus, as reiterated by the technical guide Vincenzo Mastrangelo: “We are learning to be together – states the Apulian coach – and to create a certain working mentality as well as a game system. The team is new and we are gradually getting to know each other, for now I am very happy with the work done.”

Now we begin to play and measure ourselves against some “important” opponents: “The test against Civitanova represents a prestigious challenge – continues Mastrangelo – against a Super League team that, compared to us, is further along in preparation. Some of our flaws will emerge from this match, which we will then work on in the coming weeks.” For the record, Cucine Lube Civitanova di Medei will be able to rely on the French Olympic champion Chinenyeze, the Bulgarian Nikolov and the Italian national teams Balaso and Bottolo.

Next Saturday (6.15 pm), however, the Virtussini fans will be able to admire their favorites at the Palas Allende in the test against the same category of Porto Viro, a team already faced by Fano in the past (Serie A3 and final four of the Italian Cup Serie B): “From this joint training – concludes the Virtussino coach – we will be able to understand where we are and how we are doing, comparing ourselves with an opponent who we will then meet again in the championship”.
