Fresh from the Cutrofiano marathon, Smartsystem Fano faces its second consecutive trip by visiting the Potentini of Rinascita Lagonegro (Sunday 6pm). The match’s level of difficulty is quite high considering that Lorizio’s team comes from the A2 series and is tied in the standings with the Fano players.
The Lagonegresi team, who came away with broken bones from the trip to Macerata in the last round, have not lost at home since last December 26th (2-3 with Casarano) and in the last three home matches they have left their opponents with only one set on the road.
The Virtussini, for their part, have proven to be combative outside the friendly walls in the last few matches but have collected few points (2 in Naples and 1 in Sabaudia and Casarano).
The Fano team won easily in the first leg (3-0), although this time Mister Lorizio will be able to field setter Piazza, who was absent in the first leg and replaced by Mastrangelo. Challenge between real bombers then: on one side Dimitrov and on the other the Lithuanian Vaskelis, second in the points scored behind the Polish Stabrawa. In addition to the opposite, Rinascita boasts two experienced players in the center such as Pizzichini and Miscione while Armenante and Fioretti ensure solidity at the back.
The Virtussini have found their best Roberti (extraordinary in Casarano with 38 points), but it’s not enough.
In order to return victorious from Basilicata, everyone’s contribution will be fundamental, including the bench, only in this way will we be able to find that continuity which has never been lacking in home games.
