This afternoon at 5.30 pm Emma Villas Siena will take the field at PalaEstra for the last test match of their pre-season. The opponent will be Ravenna, a team that aims to be a protagonist in the next A2 series tournament and whose roster includes former Emma Villas Siena players such as Alessio Tallone and Riccardo Copelli.
It will be the last appointment for Siena in a pre-season which has seen the white and blue face many challenges: twice against Banca Macerata, the test match against Ucla University, the one at PalaEstra against San Giustino, the tournament won in Alba Adriatica by defeating Pineto in the semi-final and They make it to the final.
Today will be another important test in view of the start of the tournament: on the first day of the championship the Sienese will be involved at home, at the PalaEstra, against Aversa. The appointment is scheduled for October 6th.
Yesterday afternoon, meanwhile, the team presented itself in front of fans, sponsors and institutions in the cloister of San Cristoforo, in the historic center of Siena. Lots of applause was given to the boys trained by coach Gianluca Graziosi as well as to the youngsters of the white and blue youth sector. It was an emotional moment, during which the club also celebrated its ten years in Serie A and ten years in Siena.
The municipal councilor with responsibility for sport, Lorenzo Lorè, also participated in the presentation: “Emma Villas has been part of the city’s sporting panorama for many years now – were his words. – This club has an important first team and at the same time has allowed and continues to allow many young people to approach sport. We hope to be able to experience another winning and fun sporting year.”
