Semi-final of the Play Offs 5th place of the SuperLega Credem Banca e Gas Sales championship Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, second in the six-team group, takes to the field tomorrow, Monday 22 April, (8.30pm live on Volleyballworld.tv, Radio Sound and Sportpiacenza.it ) at PalabancaSport, opponent Cucine Lube Civitanova. Race included in the All Inclusive subscription.

For Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, after having let first place slip away in a highly contested group due to the defeat in the last round against Civitanova, now has a chance for redemption against its own tormentors.

Whoever wins goes to the Final against the winner between Verona and Modena and will have the chance to play for the pass to the next Challenge Cup on Saturday 27 April, while whoever loses closes the season.

Civitanova, which finished the group in fourth place, continues to be a sort of bête noire for Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, which has always lost direct home matches, collecting the only 2 successes out of 12 global matches in Civitanova.

For the third time Piacenza faces a Semi-final of the 5th Place Play Offs: in the 2020-2021 season they stopped with Modena one step away from the Final, the following year after defeating Verona in the Semi-final they won the Final with Cisterna. Civitanova, on the other hand, is chasing the Challenge pass for the first time.

Yuri Romanò: (opposite Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza): “We come from a defeat that left a very bitter taste in the mouth but we immediately had the chance to face Civitanova again in an inside-out match. It will certainly be a very different match compared to the one a few days ago and not only because of its importance but because there is a desire in all of us to play a good match. We know that to be able to play next season in Europe we only have one chance, to win these play offs and we will take to the pitch to be able to achieve our objective.”

Romano Giannini (coach Cucine Lube Civitanova): “We must take the field with the right mentality, we are playing for an important goal against a team that has just been beaten in the Group. We absolutely must not let our guard down, which is precisely why we approached training with care and maximum concentration, forgetting Wednesday’s beautiful victory, also because we will start again from zero to zero. After all, we are Lube and we always play to win, even if the goal is no longer the Scudetto. Two valuable rosters will face each other, but our attitude could play a decisive role in the outcome of the match.”
