Fabrizio Gironi, born in Vimercate on 18 March 2000, 2 meters tall, is ready to reappear on the scene of the Super League in Puglia as the new opposite of Gioiella Prisma Taranto. This return is an exciting chapter in the career of a talented spiker who has proven his worth in every team he has played for.

Gironi began to be talked about in the 2014-15 season, when he took his first steps in Serie C with Segrate, and then climbed the divisions until he reached Serie A1 with Allianz Milano and then in A2 with Prisma Taranto in the 2020-21 season. His contribution was fundamental to the team’s promotion to the top division, where he continued to shine in the following season.

His path then took a turn towards Gas Sales Piacenza in the 2022-23 season, where he racked up successes, including triumph in the 2022-23 Italian Cup. His versatility made him a precious element, so much so that he was sometimes used as an opposite to fill the gaps in the team, and then officially became the opposite both in the national team and in the last season in Piacenza.

At international level, Gironi proudly represented Italy in the Under-19 and Under-20 categories before making his senior national team debut in 2019. The high point of his career with the national team was the bronze won at the XIX Mediterranean Games of 2022, confirming its ability to excel even on international stages.

With his return to Prisma Taranto, Fabrizio Gironi brings with him not only experience and talent, but also an unparalleled determination to contribute to the success of his team and to leave an indelible mark on the world of Italian volleyball.

His first words: “I’m happy to return to Taranto, a city and club with which I spent two wonderful years, which has always given me great trust and with the team we will face the championship to play for survival. I know that the club has focused a lot on me and I will try not to disappoint expectations by always giving 100%. We know that ours is the best championship but also the most difficult and we will have to fight for every ball to try to collect precious points in every match. The foundations are there in Taranto to do well and I’m sure we will play a good championship.”
