He joins a department that can already count on two big names of the caliber of Tommaso Fabi and Stefano Diana.
Macerata as the number one in the rossoblù jersey, Fabio Orazi – the twists of fate – will wear a double one having chosen the 11 and, in Molise, he will live his fifth season in the top flight (the fourth in the A3 Credem Banca, the third in succession, the second in the ‘Blue’ pool).
Twenty-six years old, 195 centimetres, last season he performed in Macerata and – in his career in Serie A – has so far achieved 379 winning actions with 143 blocks between regular season, post season and Italian Cup.
«I arrive in Campobasso – explains the person concerned – with a proactive spirit. I’m used to it and I’ve always tried to give my best because improving is a continuous stimulus for me.”
In the shadow of the Monforte castle he will find his fellow citizen Orazi, a significant reference. «Having such a strong and experienced teammate was a further lever in embracing this project. I have always known him by reputation also because he has done a lot of A2 (category that Orazi embraced in 2021/22 in Brescia) and it will now be an honor to share this experience.”
As a new entry, the player from Macerata knows well what was the last season of his new team, fresh from a path dotted with all-round successes.
«The last year was certainly memorable and led to the conquest of the title and the Italian Cup on the pitch. The certainty is that we will continue on this virtuous path and assert ourselves together with all the staff.”
Well aware of what the climate will be in the ‘Blue’ group of A3, Orazi is ready to assert himself «in the hot stadiums of passion and support because they are an extra stimulus. The Macerata experience is still with me, like my first season in A3 in Pineto. Cheering gives you energy and leads you to try to go beyond your limits to achieve the best possible result. I saw a bit of what the climate was like in Campobasso in the last tournament and I can’t wait to see the stands packed for our matches.”
At a first analysis of the group’s staff, the rossoblù central defender admits that «the poule, from season to season, sees the average level rise. Many teams have equipped themselves with important players who have come down from A2. Furthermore, a further difficulty is linked to the tight deadlines for engagement with a calendar which, without interruption, will take us from October to March.
