Gabriele Di Martino in the MINT Vero Volley Monza jersey for the third consecutive season. The Roman middle blocker born in 1997 played, in the last sporting year, 46 matches and 173 sets between SuperLega (Regular Season + Playoff Scudetto), Italian Cup and CEV Challenge Cup, scoring 289 points. For Di Martino, among the protagonists of the fantastic season that led the Lombard club to qualify for the 2024/2025 CEV Champions League, this is the ninth consecutive season in the top flight, after those spent with Molfetta/Piacenza, Sora and Taranto.
Among the qualities of the Vero Volley centre-back, he is very solid in blocking and in attack (his best performance of the season was 14 points against Catania in Sicily on the ninth first leg of the regular season), where he ended last season with 54 .8%, there is also an excellent float service, which was often useful in Monza for creating break situations.
In blue, Di Martino made his debut with the senior representative team two years ago, precisely on 25 May 2022 in the friendly match played in Cavalese between Italy and Bulgaria (2-3), then winning a Bronze at the Mediterranean Games in 2022 (for Oran, Algeria). However, with the Italian youth national teams, for which he did the whole process, he obtained a Silver at the 2015 pre-Junior European Championship.
“I am very happy to stay in Monza for the third consecutive year – the words of Di Martino – we are coming from a spectacular season in which we reached 3 finals. I carry with me some wonderful memories, and I hope to experience just as many next year with a new team and new players. I am proud to represent Monza in an important and challenging competition like the Champions League, in which I am sure we will do well. We will have to try to create the same team chemistry as last season, to make the next one unforgettable.”
