Countdown to the Final Four of the 27th Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A2. Starting tomorrow, the weekend of 11 and 12 May, the Cuneo Palasport will host the final rush to award the first A2 seasonal title, after the promotion to the SuperLega of Grottazzolina, winner of the Play Offs and already qualified for the Del Monte® Super Cup on May 19th. For the first time in history, the category trophy with the tricolor cockade will be contested at the end of the championship, with the second pass to the Del Monte® Supercoppa A2 up for grabs.
The Semi-finals calendar includes a first match at 5.00 pm between Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina and Consar Ravenna, who eliminated Cantù and Prata respectively in the Quarterfinals. On the eve of the remake of the Play Off Semifinal, the Marche club, which once again finds a fresh ex like Filippo Bartolucci as an opponent, is ahead in the previous matches with the Romagna team (5-2). The second match sees Consoli Sferc Brescia on the field at 7.30pm, having qualified to the quarter-finals to the detriment of Siena, and Delta Group Porto Viro, capable of eliminating Cuneo one step away from the Final Four, blocking the way for the Piedmontese hosts. The Toucans, victorious 5 times out of 6 matches against their Venetian rival, await Niels Klapwijk’s 2000 winning attacks in Italy (-15). In the two rosters there is one ex on each side: Alex Erati and Giacomo Bellei.
The two teams that emerge victorious from the two face-to-face matches of the previous day will compete in the Final scheduled for Sunday 12 May, at 5.30 pm, on the same pitch.
The Del Monte® Coppa Italia A2, as for the Lega Pallavolo Serie A events, includes a variation compared to the championship match standards: the coaches will have only one time out available for each set.
The three matches scheduled for the weekend will all be live on the Volleyball TV streaming platform (http://vb.tv), which brings together all the matches and events of the SuperLega, Serie A2 and the best of world volleyball. The Final on Sunday 12th will also be live on Sky Sport Max (decoder channel 205).
