The A2 Credem Banca championship of Consar Ravenna begins against the newly promoted Virtus Volley Fano, of the former Stefano Mengozzi and Manuel Coscione, the third consecutive in this category. Today in Bologna, at the end of the three days of Volley Mercato, the calendar was released during an event presented by Rai journalist Maurizio Colantoni, with a musical opening and closing by Casadilego, winner of the 2020 edition of X Factor and a comic foray by Paolo Cevoli.
Valentini’s team starts on October 6th at home, at Pala De Andrè, against the team that conquered the A2 by winning the playoffs. The following week the first away match of the season to Reggio Emilia, against Conad in the only regional derby foreseen by the geography of the championship. Emma Villas Siena, led by former Ravenna coach Gianluca Graziosi, will be the opponent of the third match, which will be played on Tuesday 22nd October due to the unavailability of Pala De Andrè on Sunday 20th, and the first big game declared on the Ravenna road, while between the sixth and seventh like last year, Goi and his teammates will have to face two consecutive away games, in this case both in the south: Palmi on November 3, in the match that constitutes a sort of personal derby for coach Valentini, Calabrian by birth, and Aversa seven days later. The home match on 17 November against Brescia represents the rematch of last season’s Italian Cup final and opens a rather tough finale in which Goi and his teammates will face all the other contenders for the SuperLega, Cuneo and Catania. Closing with the other newly promoted bank from the Marche, Banca Macerata.
A2 Credem Banca has two midweek rounds: 31 October, with Consar at home against Delta Group Porto Viro, and 26 December, in the traditional Boxing Day round, with the away match in Fano.
The dates of the Del Monte Coppa Italia have also been made official. The round of 16 will be played in April, on the 6th, 13th and eventual game 3 on the 21st. Quarter-finals on May 1st, semi-finals three days later until the grand final scheduled for May 11th. The following week, on 18 May 2025, the A2 Super Cup will be awarded.
