For the sixteenth consecutive season, Itas Trentino will be one of the four protagonists of the Italian Cup Final Four. The European Champion Club, which has regularly qualified for the semi-finals of the competition since the 2009/10 season, further extends its extraordinary qualifying streak this afternoon thanks to the 3-1 success over Cisterna Volley at the IlT Daily Arena, closing with a smile the calendar year 2024 which saw it win its fourth Champions League and climb to the second step of the podium also in the Super Cup and Club World Cup. However, to obtain this result the home team must sweat a lot, especially in odd sets, in which the opponents hold the court well, deserving of reaching at least the fourth set. Above all, Alessandro Michieletto (30 personal points with 69% at the net, two blocks and three aces) took care of definitively rejecting Cisterna in the most delicate moment, after the exploits of Ramon and Faure, capable of momentarily reopening the contest. Trento gets the ticket to Bologna and does so at the end of a test in which the serve (10 aces) and the attack (59% of the team) are confirmed as essential weapons for obtaining the result.

After three years of absence from the final phase of the Del Monte ® Coppa Italia, Cucine Lube Civitanova breaks the spell at the photo finish and qualifies for the Final Four scheduled for 25 and 26 January at the Unipol Arena in Bologna. A heart-pounding sprint was decisive with the tie break success (25-17, 20-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-11) achieved today against Allianz Milano in the quarter-finals in a single match at the Eurosuole Forum . In Emilia the Cucineri will face Itas Trentino in the Semi-final for the remake of the inside-out challenge that took place a few weeks ago at the Club World Cup.
Teams on the field with the typical sextets. Before the match, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of the historic coach Daniele Bagnoli, who passed away on Friday.
The statistics reward Civitanova, reached in the second and fourth sets, before the decisive acceleration at the tie break, but the success is the result of competitive spirit and unity of purpose. On the opposite front, Reggers is monstrous and scores 32 personal points, assisted by Louati (11) and Schnitzer (11), but Lube wins as a great team with the tenacity of the group and a choral contribution. Boninfante closed the match with an excellent distribution of the balls, sending Lagumdzija (14), Bottolo (12), awarded MVP, Loeppky (11), who entered during the match in progress, and Chinenyeze (10) into double figures.
MVP: Mattia Bottolo (Cucine Lube Civitanova)

Rana Verona writes a page of history and flies to the Final Four for the first time since the birth of Verona Volley, closing the quarterfinal match with Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza at the tie break at the end of a marathon. That the stakes are very high can be understood right from the opening moments, with the two teams remaining attached and unable to find an advantage. The hosts try to break away midway through the half with Abaev’s block and Mozic’s attacking shots. The gap is notable and Galassi’s error gives the first set to the Scaligeri. Better start in the second set for the red and white team, which immediately creates an important gap. Verona recovers ground and puts the matter back on balance. A more uncertain start in the third set, with the two teams engaging in a point-to-point battle. The Scaligeri trying to extend, but the Emilians shorten and put their face forward again. There is balance until the end, but Simon hits the wall which reopens the discussion. At the start of the fourth quarter, Piacenza finds continuity and significantly breaks away from the locals. Verona recovers, but the gap is too wide and Piacenza sends the match to a tie break. The Scaligeri team got off to a better start in the last round and kept control of the game until the end, closing the game with Bovolenta’s error. The home fans celebrate. Keita once again on top, awarded with yet another MVP thanks to the 30 points scored, with 2 aces and 56% positivity in attack.
