Tomorrow, at 11.30 am, at the CONI Hall of Honor in Rome, the awards ceremony of the eleventh edition of the “Patron of Sport” Award will be held, an event of great international importance. This year, among the protagonists of the event, there will be a delegation from Cisterna Volley, composed of the sports director Candido Grande, the team manager Danilo Cirelli, the Olympic champion Theo Faure and the libero Domenico Pace.
THE AWARDS-The main prize will be awarded to the legendary coach Julio Velasco, who recently led the Italvolley women’s team to the gold medal at the Paris Games. Velasco, an emblematic figure of world sport, will receive the recognition from the hands of the CONI president Giovanni Malagò, the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi and Giovanni Di Pietro, president of the Varaldo Di Pietro Foundation, promoter of the event and known for his commitment to sport, including the arrival of the Giro d’Italia in Latina in 1992.
THE INFO-The ceremony, conducted by the journalist Matteo Marani, current president of the Lega Pro, will see the participation of numerous prominent personalities from the sporting world, such as the president of the Italian Volleyball Federation Giuseppe Manfredi and the famous volleyball player Manuela Benelli.
