Cisterna Volley is preparing to experience the last match of the pre-season against Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina on Thursday 19 September, before the curtain rises on the Super League championship. The test match between the two teams involved in the top Italian series will be staged at the PalaMaggetti in Roseto degli Abruzzi at 7pm, in what will be a taste of the championship now upon us. The group led by coach Falasca has already played a total of seven matches in the preparation process.
“The preparation is going well, from the training sessions I am pleased to note that the level is high – says Daniele Mazzone, center back in his second year with the colors of Cisterna Volley – There is healthy competition within the group and compared to last year we are certainly defending more. Personally I feel I still have room for improvement from a physical point of view and it is precisely on the athletic aspect that I am focusing to try to be at my best as soon as possible. The match against Grottazzolina will be useful to complete our journey because having the opportunity to do this test allows us to have important answers. They are a collective that can boast players with experience in the Super League on their roster who have done well in the top flight, just think of Oleg Antonov, who won the Olympic silver with Italy. As a team we will have to try to be more cynical, an attitude we work on in training and which we will improve with the arrival of the matches.”
