While the news of the admission to the next cadet championship of all 14 teams that have applied is fresh, Consoli is proceeding with the preparation of an attack department further enriched by the entry into the squad of middle blocker Antonio Cargioli, eternal rival of the toucans with the red and blue gold shirt.
Born in 1994 and 200 cm strong, he is a veteran of the A2 Credem Banca with nine championships played: apart from the last one played with the Lupi di Santa Croce, the core of his experience is formed in the previous six, all spent in Bergamo. In two of these he played alongside Alex Erati and together they won their first Italian Cup in the final against Brescia in 2020, won in a tie-break in Bologna at the end of an exciting match, as were all the derbies in which Cargio was the protagonist on the other side of the net.
In his palmarès there are, in addition to almost 2,000 points (of which around 500 by blocks), two Italian Cups and two A2 Super Cups, two Play-off finals lost against Piacenza in 2019 and Vibo in 2023 with the then second coach Max Redaelli who will also find himself on the bench in Brescia.
The Milanese athlete was a guest on Thursday of Ivan Maurigi, owner of the Valgobbina brass molding company of the same name which has supported Atlantide in its growth path in A2 for years. “I am coming to Brescia certainly for the important project that the company is carrying out – confirmed Cargioli -. A great team is forming and being part of a fierce and ambitious group is stimulating and rewarding for me. Among other things, I meet up with old traveling companions with whom I got along well in the past. The solid history of Atlantis and the proximity to Bergamo, in fact now my home, are other factors that guided my choice. I arrive at my tenth season in A2 ready to give my contribution in terms of competitive energy, experience, attitude to work, certain that all together we can do very well”.
