Gamma Chimica Brugherio wins the 2024 edition of the DelMonte Boy League, 25th Enrico Bazan Trophy, beating in the final, in the setting of the Pala Allende in Fano, which hosted the event from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May, 2-0 ( 25-19, 25-16) the Cucine Lube Civitanova.
The exclusive event organized by the Serie A Volleyball League, reserved for the youth sectors of the consortium’s clubs, five years after the last time the Lega national Under 14 championship was played, has a new winner: after Trento, first place in the last edition of 2019, Gamma Chimica Brugherio enters the event’s roll of honor by winning the 2024 edition of the Boy League, a trophy that enters the Pink Devils’ success board for the first time.
A clear path of growth followed by the team led by coach Gianluca Cavaglieri who, after topping the first phase group in first place (8 points), winning the exciting match against Kioene Padova 3-0, 2-1 against Sir Safety Perugia and 3-0 against Emmeti Clima Modena, reached the semi-final against Itas Trentino, a match won by the rosanero with a score of 2-0.
The last act, the Final which put the Boy League title up for grabs, was against Cucine Lube Civitanova, a personality match where Gamma Chimica Brugherio fully expressed its game and team value.
At the end of the two sets, the Pink Devils put the gold medal around their necks and won, for the first time in the history of the Brugherio club, the title of Under 14 national champions of the Serie A Volleyball League.
With great satisfaction, coach Cavaglieri comments on his boys’ result: “The final phase of this Boy League began immediately with a high-level match against the Padua team, where we managed to prevail despite the good abilities of our opponents. In the morning on Saturday, however, we had some difficulties in winning against Sir Perugia, a moment where however we turned the corner and put the right gear for the afternoon match against Modena and for the final phase of the event the boys really dealt with the anxiety in the right way the adrenaline of a championship semi-final annihilating Trento thanks to great serves and point blocks. In addition to the joy of having managed to reach the national final, the boys really became aware of being really tough and strong. With this energy the final also went at our best where we managed to place decisive breaks right from the start to win by a margin. In addition to being good players, I would like to congratulate the boys for their behavior throughout the tournament.
