Double session again today for the Block Devils who had a preventive session in the gym in the morning and, in the afternoon, work on the taraflex of the PalaEvangelisti. Tomorrow morning training in the weight room and differentiated work with the ball, while in the afternoon the usual training on the field is scheduled. In sight is the second consecutive championship away match for Angelo Lorenzetti’s boys who, after Sunday’s match at the Kioene Arena against Sonepar Padova, are expected by another match away from home: in the advance match for next Saturday, 12 October, at the PalaPanini against Modena.
Coach Alberto Giuliani’s team, unlike the Block Devils, is preparing to play its second consecutive match at home and is fresh from a round victory in 3 sets over the freshman Grottazzolina. Regarding last Sunday’s match, a curious statistic contrasts the Sir Susa Vim Perugia match with Padova and the Valsa Group Modena match with Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina: the Bianconeri match at the Kioene Arena was in fact the longest match, in terms of duration of the entire championship day, with 2:27 minutes of play, while with one hour and 19 minutes of play the match at PalaPanini was the shortest. All this on an “archive” Sunday, again in terms of statistics: in fact, it was the first time, after 1999, in which no team finished the second round without gaining even a point in the standings.
