A leader with the strength of example: Belluno Volleyball has found a point of reference in Fabio Bisi, capable of always having an impact, every day of the week. And even more so in the game: thanks to the cleanliness of his volleyball, the effectiveness of his left-handed dunks, the specific “weight” of his attacks. Because, in hot moments, it is always better to rely on those who have ice in their veins: that is, the captain.
CLIMB – Thanks to an impetuous climb, in a very high pace of 2024, the blue and whites managed to join Personal Time San Donà, on the second step of the rankings. And to overcome it, by virtue of the best set quotient: «We worked a lot, after a first round in which we were unable to express ourselves at our levels – is the comment of the twenty-nine year old opposing player originally from Modena -. We wanted to do better, to give more. So we increased our efforts, even in training. And this led to achieving good results.” Good enough to grab second place: «But to be honest, I never gave too much meaning to the regular season placement, even though it was difficult to imagine reaching second place at certain stages of the year».
THE TURNING POINT – The turning point, according to the captain, coincides with a very specific date: January 21st. The day of the derby against San Donà, won in three sets. A day in which, moreover, Bisi was the protagonist of a spectacular save with his foot, a few centimeters from the advertising boards, and 16 points with 58 percent in attack: «That match made us aware of our potential and the standard of game that we could reach, expressing ourselves to the maximum.”
CHALLENGING CROSSROADS – But with the month of April a new chapter opens. Or rather, a new story: the playoffs. And the first obstacle on the rhinos’ path is called Negrini Cte Acqui Terme. By a strange twist of fate, the last away match of the regular season will be the first of the post season. Because on Monday 1 April (7pm), the first leg match will be staged in Valenza, in the province of Alessandria: «The one with Acqui Terme is a difficult pairing, but in the playoffs it is nothing new – continues the captain -. Only equipped teams qualify. The important thing is to be able to show off two matches of the highest level. We are confident, we can do very well.”
