Best Big Camp ever

The Trentino Volley BIG Camp 2024 was archived this morning, with the conclusion of the seventh and final round. An edition, the seventeenth ever, which will also be remembered (but not only) for the absolute record of registrations; in the forty-nine days of the yellow-blue summer camp on Monte Bondone (the Trento mountain which has hosted this type of initiative since 2007) there were in fact 1,318 young people taking part, with an increase of 238 units compared to the previous year.
All the members (between eleven and seventeen years old) took turns between 16 June and 3 August on a dozen sand, grass and tartan playing fields, giving life to 254 hours of activities, directed by a very capable staff composed of by twenty-seven instructors. Also in summer 2024, the Trentino Volley BIG Camp has therefore confirmed itself as an excellent way for young volleyball enthusiasts to spend particularly fun and intense weeks in the open air; not even the days characterized by bad weather managed to put a stop to the program, which on those occasions was carried out exclusively at the Sopramonte and Vela gyms (already the scene of daily training for some of the participants) or in the facilities of the two hotels that hosted the boys, Chalet Caminetto and Chalet Dolomiti.
The added value was also represented by the continuous alternation of the so-called “BIG Guests” at Vason; During the seven rounds held, many prominent personalities came to Bondone to meet the boys and talk about their volleyball experience at high levels: the Italians Gabriele Laurenzano, Daniele Lavia, Alessandro Michieletto, Riccardo Sbertoli, the new European Champions Oreste Cavuto and Kamil Rychlicki and, last but not least, the six players who began training for the men’s Itas Trentino only on Thursday afternoon together with the entire technical staff. On Friday afternoon they went up to Bondone for a training/performance on the sand which greatly entertained the 213 participants in the last round.
BIG Camp 2024 is therefore coming to an end with everyone’s great satisfaction, but also with many ideas to develop in anticipation of summer 2025. The appointment is in less than eleven months; the organizational machine is already ready to get to work and plan the 18th summer in Monte Bondone.
