The market coup achieved by Yuasa Battery, which for its historic debut in the Super League has placed a strong focus on the figure of Oleg Antonov, bringing him back to Italy after his very recent experience in the Russian Super League, is literally driving the media crazy.
A beautiful story, romantic if you like, that sees Oleg return to the small village in the Marche region after having grown up there, spending his childhood there in the two years that saw his father, the former Russian Olympic vice-champion Jaroslav, become a giant in the then Videx of A2. And the one who knows about masterpieces like few others is certainly Mauro Berruto, current parliamentarian of the Republic, recently guest in Grottazzolina in a double event organized by M&G Scuola Pallavolo as part of the SportivaMente sports festival. Author of the book and the related theater show “Masterpieces. Train, train, look elsewhere”, it was in fact Mauro Berruto, coach of the Italian men’s national volleyball team from 2010 to 2015, who sent his thoughts to the top of the Grottazzolina club regarding an athlete he himself defined as exemplary.
