“If it were up to me I would play this evening too.” In a complicated game 1, for Belluno Volley, the main flashes of light came from a spiker who is already eager for the second act of the playoff semi-final series: Andrea Schiro. Tomorrow (Wednesday 1 May, 7 pm), in fact, the rhinos will go to the net again with one objective, or rather, a fixed obsession: to overcome Smartsystem Fano, victorious in three sets no later than last Sunday, and bring the series back to equilibrium. With the push of the Spes Arena.
ATTITUDE – Schiro, the only Belluno native in double figures in the boiling hot tub of the Palasport Allende, scored 10 points and attacked with 59 percent, while in the third set he acted in the opposite role. And with very good results: «Within friendly walls, Fano always expresses itself at its best – argues the twenty-two year old originally from Thiene -. We, however, have the obligation to show a different attitude compared to the last match. And the fact of playing at home will certainly help.”
BELIEVE IN IT – Understanding mistakes, and then avoiding repeating them in a match with no tomorrow: this is Belluno Volley’s priority. And by Schiro: «It is necessary to approach the confrontation in a different way, to be more aggressive and bold. In the Marche, however, we were too passive. In short, we have to believe it. Also because, when we did it, we managed to recover several points and create some thoughts for the red and whites, as happened in the third set. Don’t give up.” Despite the opponent being of a very high profile: «We are talking about a complete team in every role and personality. Smartsystem makes very few mistakes and has a very effective service.”
COURT FACTOR – Now, however, the series moves to the shadow of the Dolomites: «The field factor can have a significant impact. At the Spes Arena, in fact, we find our references and our audience: it is no coincidence that various teams have struggled with us.” Schiro is projected on game 2: «We will try to offer a good volleyball. And we will give our best: we want to win at all costs and then return to Fano.” Finally, an invitation to the fans: «Continue to support us. And to reach the Spes Arena in large numbers.”
