After the excellent debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Ferdinando De Giorgi’s Italian national team is preparing for the second match of the group stage. Having beaten Brazil 3-1 (25-23, 27-25, 18-25, 25-21) in the match that marked the debut of Giannelli and his teammates in the event, the Azzurri are now awaiting tomorrow’s match, Tuesday 29 July, at 9.00 am against Egypt, who lost the match against Poland (final result 3-0).
A possible success against the North African selection would guarantee Italy to show up for the last match of the group, scheduled for Saturday 3 August against Poland, in the best possible conditions. Italy – Egypt will be visible live on Discovery, DAZN, Rai Sport HD with windows on Rai 2.
This is the situation in the other groups: Pool A sees Slovenia in command, winning 3-1 against Canada, while the hosts France needed a tie-break to get the better of Serbia. Pool C, however, saw Germany win in five sets against Japan, while the United States needed three sets to overcome Argentina.
