Avimecc Modica continues to focus on talented young people to strengthen the roster with which it will face the 2024/2025 edition of the A3 volleyball championship.
In fact, by maintaining the line taken for a few years, the Modica management has scored another coup, ensuring the performance of the talented Lorenzo Cavasin.
Born in 2004, Lorenzo Cavasin is a 198 centimeter tall opposite player who played in Serie B with Mercatò Alba in the season just ended. For him also a season in Serie C with Banca Alpi Marittime Cuneo.
“We are happy to continue in this volleyball market – to bring talented young people to Modica – explains president Ezio Aprile – some of whom are in the various national teams. Lorenzo Cavasin – he continues – is one of these young people who are said to be very good and who we are convinced can also give us a hand in Serie A3, a championship which he will face for the first time in his career. Cavasin – concludes Ezio Aprile – like Barretta, Pappalardo, Matani and Cipolloni are young and prospective athletes who we believe will allow us to be competitive in a difficult championship, maintaining our ‘culture’ of showcasing young people which has always distinguished Volley Modica”.
Raised in the Sile Volley youth team, Lorenzo Cavasin joined the Italian Deaf National Team in 2020 and in 2021 he participated in the World Cup held in Chianciano in which the Azzurri won the bronze medal by beating France in the final. In 2022 he took part in the Olympics in Caxias de Soul in Brazil with the lowest step of the final podium. Bronze also in July 2023 in Karabuk in Turkey and last June together with the Azzurri he won the silver medal in Okinawa.
“I was very happy with the proposal made by Avimecc Modica and I willingly accepted to move to Sicily – explains Lorenzo Cavasin – because many people, including some national team teammates and former players, spoke well to me about the whole environment and the management . For me it is a new adventure that I believe can make me grow a lot on a volleyball and personal level in a group that is completely new to me. I can’t wait to compete with players of a decidedly higher level than last season and I hope to be up to par. As soon as I saw the group – he continues – I understood that many of the teams we are going to meet are well equipped and I hope to be able to compete on equal terms with all of them. To the Modica fans – concludes Lorenzo Cavasin – I promise to always give my best even in the most difficult situations that arise during the season”.
