The 2024/2025 season of Avimecc Modica officially begins today and for the sixth consecutive year it will be at the starting line of the A3 volleyball championship.

From today, in fact, the “Galletti” will meet at the “PalaRizza” to begin pre-season preparation which will start on October 13th with the home match against Reggio Calabria of former Marco Spagnol.

Last night in a well-known venue in the historic center of the County city, the traditional dinner took place, with technical and managerial staff and the players who have already arrived in the city a few days ago.

Doing the honors were the president Ezio Aprile and the DG Luca Leocata who welcomed the new athletes and re-embraced the many reconfirmed players who will make up the “hard core” of the blue and whites who from today will begin to “sweat” with the enthusiasm and the desire to improve together desired by the management and above all by the reconfirmed coach Enzo Distefano.

“We have built a team that in our opinion can do well in a difficult championship like that of A3 – explains DG Luca Leocata -. We reconfirmed the hard core and strengthened the roster with young but talented players who we brought to Modica after a careful analysis and who were “chosen” for their characteristics which are fully intertwined with our objectives. We are sorry to have lost Salvo Nicastro to whom we wish him good luck in his new adventure, but – he continues – we believe we have worthily replaced him with Simone Di Lorenzo. Furthermore, we have added Manuel Benassi to the technical staff who will support coach Enzo Distefano and we will have the consultancy of Paolo Modica, one of the best athletic trainers at national level, who will support the important work that our trainer Emanuele Cappello will carry out who for us is a guarantee that has been with us for several seasons and together with the healthcare staff led by Doctor Giovanni Aprile they have always given their all to make all our athletes feel good and perform at their best. Now – concludes Luca Leocata – the word passes to the field. From today we will start working hard and prepare ourselves as best we can to raise the colors of Modica and the whole of Sicily, given that we will be the only island team to represent Trinacria in the A3 series. Our goal is to always do better, but above all to have fun together and entertain our audience who I hope will follow us with passion as they have always done so far.”
