Here we are. The 2024/25 season officially opens its doors, and the Sorrento roster starts again with important ambitions, determined to improve on last season’s eighth place. The negotiations are officially concluded, and as can be seen from the words of the President of ShedirPharma Sorrento Fabrizio Ruggiero, high-sounding names who need no introduction will wear the green and white jacket. The collaboration with Volley Meta is also significant, whose decades of work with the youth sector can be increasingly strengthened and made solid over time.
The roster for the 2024/25 season has been defined: what can we anticipate at this moment, and how was the team built?
“We launch the announcement campaign like every year. The team is closed in every department, and I believe that what is about to begin will be an important season, because it will introduce everyone to a new philosophy that we are gradually making our own. The PalAtigliana will feature important names, who until recently we would never have thought of bringing to Sorrento. Sensational announcements will follow shortly both in terms of the more experienced athletes and in relation to what we are sowing at a youth level.”
What is about to begin will be the fourth consecutive year in A3. With what ambitions will the team present itself at the starting line?
“Once the players who will make up the new roster are known, we will no longer be able to hide. We don’t like making proclamations but we prefer to let the field speak, because humility must continue to be the essential characteristic of our project. We will certainly aim to improve on the result achieved last season, and I believe this group will be hungry to achieve ambitious results.”
The “Together you can” project, in collaboration with Volley Meta, is bearing fruit in all categories. How decisive can the contribution of young people be, even from a first team perspective?
“We will talk more in depth about the youth sector in a joint interview that we will do together with Pasquale Apreda, president of Volley Meta. Together we are building important things, and already from the names that will make up the first team, you will see the imprint of a project aimed at young people. We want to slowly bring some elements of the Sorrento Peninsula to the forefront of Serie A, but above all to create a trend that from the lower categories up to the top series represents a three-lane highway for all those young people who have made their mark in the national championships.
