Emma Villas Siena will resume their training tomorrow after a weekend that gave satisfaction to the players trained by coach Gianluca Graziosi. The Sienese won the Città di Alba Adriatica tournament, defeating Pineto 3-1 in the semi-final and then also winning the final against Fano with the same result. It was a significant tournament because it pitted the Sienese against other Serie A2 teams, when the championship is now upon us: the first day will be Sunday 6 October when the Tuscans will face Aversa at home.
This week will see the Sienese team engaged in two more test matches, and both will be played at PalaEstra: on Wednesday it will arrive in viale Sclavo Macerata, while on Saturday it will be Ravenna’s turn. Two other important and significant commitments for the white and blues, now close to the start of the A2 series tournament.
Yesterday afternoon the blue and whites celebrated after winning the trophy, at the end of two matches played with good shots and solidity by the Sienese. “We are happy for the victory of this trophy, even if we are not yet talking about championship matches – is the comment of Emma Villas Siena centre-back, Stefano Trillini. – Winning helps you win and creates the right mentality. I’m happy with the team’s performance, but this weekend was also useful for us to understand what’s still not working and where we need to make progress. We are putting our maximum effort into improving every day. However, in this tournament we showed good things, we were focused and we stayed within the two matches.”
