In an increasingly high-level championship, you need to arrive at the match fully prepared for your opponent and therefore statistical work with supporting videos is fundamental. To guarantee this support on a constant basis, the Cuneo club has made a scoutman assistant available to the technical staff who will support Dario Sampo’ in the role; Antonio Amelio arrives in Cuneo from Turin.

A decade of experience in the role of scoutman around Piedmont, between youth championships, men’s Serie B, men’s Serie A3 at Volley Parella, women’s Serie A1 at Fenera Chieri ’76 make Amelio the right figure to include within the technical staff biancoblù for the next men’s A2 season.

« Knowing and having collaborated with DS Brugiafreddo and coach Battocchio made the choice to collaborate with Cuneo easier next season. Furthermore, the possibility of returning to work in a team that plays in Serie A is absolutely stimulating and then the name “Cuneo” is always a nice business card.”

Do you already know the rest of the staff and in particular your role partner?
« Yes, I have known Dario since the second level coaching course, so for almost ten years. We spoke recently to understand how to organize ourselves and with the excuse of meeting in person before the start of the season and preparing the work plan.”

What do you expect from next season?
« I can’t wait to start preparing to learn as much as possible about the A2 championship. It will certainly be interesting for me, I have the chance to grow in my job and gain experience and knowledge about an important championship.”

Have you set yourself any goals?
« I am a curious person who always wants to learn. Collaborating with a reality that is new to me and in a Serie A championship will allow me to get involved and learn new things even if not strictly related to the role of scoutman.”
