The Reggio Emilia flag continues to fly: Antonino Suraci remains in the Giallorossi.
After four years in a row in Reggio Emilia, an Italian Cup, a Super Cup and a championship victory with the Reggio Emilia club, the Lombard Suraci signs again with Conad, but this year as a spiker and no longer as an opposite player: “I am very happy with how this sporting year went, I was asked to be a spiker to help the team in a moment of difficulty, and all in all it went well. I know that I can still refine certain aspects of this role, there are automatisms to settle, but I can’t say I’m disappointed in myself; next season I want to get involved and continue to improve. This year coach Fanuli was very close to me, as were my teammates, who helped me a lot especially in moments of disorientation; having expert receptors at my side reassured me.”
A mutual love between Suraci and the city of Reggio Emilia, the spiker is in fact loved by a large part of the Giallorossi public: “I chose to stay in Reggio for the club’s project, for the trust it has placed in me over the years, which is not a given, for the team that is being formed and for the fans. In Reggio Emilia they have always made me feel at home, which is a fundamental aspect, because when things aren’t going well, being in an environment that allows you to feel comfortable, improve and continue working is a positive thing.”
Antonino this will be your fifth season in Reggio, there were years in which you won a lot and other equally complicated years, what would you like to achieve with the new team?
“I expect a different type of championship, with the aim of saving ourselves as soon as possible and once we’re calm, playing without worries to get some satisfaction that I believe the club deserves, the teammates who will arrive and those who will remain, but also the public who always supports us”
