The last available box in the Impavido Roster also closes. Catanese, born in 2005, with his 200 centimeters tall Andrea Di Giunta will join Luca Rossato in the opposite role.
He is young and his career is also young, given that he only had his first approaches to volleyball when he was sixteen. Evidently there are two cases. Either Andrea Di Giunta has an innate talent for this sport, or he has very high learning abilities.
Ready-Go and it’s straight away to Serie B for Di Giunta. In parallel with his journey in the youth sector, Andrea made his debut with the Gupe Volley Catania shirt, also playing a few games as a starter, in the second part of the 2021/2022 championship. Again with La Gupe Volley he played as a full starter the following season, playing a high level Serie C with the team that reached the Promotion Play Off final.
The journey in the Under was also fruitful. Gupe Volley Catania is regional champion in both the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 championships, but it is the latter that gives the newly fearless player the greatest satisfaction. Andrea Di Giunta is elected MVP of the regional final and subsequently Catania will have an extraordinary path in the national finals which will lead it to be among the TOP 10 in Italy.
A huge potential, therefore, which is only waiting to be further increased with hard work in the gym, the advice of more experienced teammates and the guidance of Coach Denora: «Very happy with the experience that awaits me next season», says Andrea Di Junta. «I consider myself a determined person, with a great desire to do things and who gives my all in training. It will be an opportunity to compare myself with high-level athletes from whom I will be able to learn a lot. My goal is therefore to grow from both a technical and character point of view, always remaining ready to give my contribution for the good of the team.”
