He will be Alessio Carraro’s right-hand man. And the operational arm regarding athletic training: having definitively hung up his knee pads, Tommaso Pavan is ready to experience a new adventure within the Belluno Volleyball staff. Yes, because the setter director, who last spring was among the protagonists of the leap from the First Division to the D series, officially becomes the assistant athletic trainer. And he will in all respects be a field man, in the sense that he will follow the A3 rhinos during the week and in pre-match warm-ups.
WHITE SHEET – «For me it is a great opportunity – says the person directly involved – because I will be working in contact with very high level profiles. In addition, the team is made up of 14 starters. There’s no point in hiding it, expectations are high. And we on the staff will do everything to satisfy them.” Pavan has already interfaced with Carraro: «He is a very open person. And very helpful: the initial impact proved to be more than positive. In front of a professional who has been working in Padua in SuperLega for years, I feel like I’m on the first day of school: with a blank sheet of paper to fill. I want to learn. And, at the same time, leave my mark.”
FROM FERRARA TO WALES – Having graduated in Sports Science, Pavan took the path of a football trainer: «I followed the little ones from Belluno. Then, when I moved to Ferrara, I used the internship part to collaborate with the Portomaggiore team. At that point, once I had completed an experience in the schools of my province, I came into contact with the State University of Milan, until I moved to Wales: in the United Kingdom I followed Bangor City. Then, another two years in Puglia and, finally, the return to the Belluno area, where I helped start the “GiochiAmo” project, aimed at introducing children to physical activity».
TRAIN – Volleyball is not a simple occupation for Pavan: «It has been my life for 16 years. And it has allowed me to cultivate friendships that will last forever. Even now that I am no longer a player, I consider myself lucky because I don’t leave what is my world: the gym. And I will continue to do what I like.” The new season is upon us: «The fact of being able to work together with Carraro and coach Matteo De Cecco, who will soon be involved in the Olympics, is a train that only passes once. And I intend to make the most of it, giving my all. I intend to be the best version of myself, every day.”
