Born in Turin in 2001, five years of Serie A behind him and a great desire to establish himself in a difficult and complex championship like the Serie A2 Credem Banca. This is the identikit of Alberto Benedicenti, the new libero of Tinet Prata, who joined Livenza from his native Chieri. For him, three years in Ortona, a parenthesis in Portomaggiore and the experience of Club Italia where he was Kristian Gamba’s teammate under the guidance of Monica Cresta. In 2018 also the satisfaction of a European U18 bronze in the blue jersey.
For him, despite the relegation of the Abruzzo team, the satisfaction of having brought home important statistics, finishing the year as the fourth best receiver in the A2 championship. Quality that did not go unnoticed in the eyes of DS Luciano Sturam and DG Dario Sanna who wanted to make it the pillar of the second line of the Tinet to come.
“Already since my arrival I had wonderful sensations – says the new Passerotto Benedicenti – I found a very welcoming and organized PalaPrata and I honestly can’t wait to get started. I expect a positive season because I believe I have joined a competitive team that will be able to assert itself throughout the championship.”
The environment of Prata, however, is not new to you, having played there with the shirts of Ortona and Club Italia. To get straight into the story, can you tell us a little about yourself from the competitive side?
“One thing I can go out on a limb about is the fact that I always guarantee maximum commitment and maximum availability. If I had to define myself with adjectives I would say charismatic and optimistic”
Straight question: better in reception or defense?
“(laughs) Let’s say more reception!”
Excluding volleyball, what is Alberto like?
“Outside the volleyball context, my passion is motor sport. I follow car and motorcycle races in general. I’m graduating in Sports Science because sports is absolutely my life.”
Introduce yourself to your new fans
“I do it willingly because when I played here I immediately felt the great warmth they know how to convey to the team. Now I will be lucky enough to have them on my side and for this reason I look forward to meeting them with anxiety and curiosity”
