Protagonist with Siena last season and coming from the Trentino Volley school, the middle blocker Alessandro Acuti known as “Acu” is a new player for Smartsystem Fano.
Born in 2000, 199 cm, the Bolzano native played not only at Siena but also at Motta di Livenza (season 21-23) in Serie A2, reaching the play-off quarter-finals in the first season: “In 2020 – specifies the new Virtussian centre-back – I made my debut also in the Champions League with Trento, but the years of technical growth were the last.” A technical background that Acuti will make available to Virtus: “The company is serious and ambitious – continues the Trentino player – with an important project. And this was easy to understand, it was enough to watch the final phase of the play offs, from there I understood everything.”
Alessandro also comes from an important season with promotion to the Super League narrowly missed with Siena: “Very positive season – says Acuti – we had a high-level roster, I think I gave my contribution, now I’m available and ready to give my my contribution to Fano”.
Compared to Siena, the Virtussian club has a slightly different objective but the team that is being set up is still valuable: “Absolutely yes – concludes Acuti – a team will emerge with the right mix, expert and young, with an important coach and I’m sure we’ll have fun. The level will be decidedly higher than that of the A3 series, but this shouldn’t scare us.”
Alessandro Acuti was born in Bolzano and is studying engineering, he loves the mountains but despite this he comes to live in a seaside area: “I was born in the mountains and I love taking long walks, but I can’t deny that I also really like the sea” .
