After having secured their pass for the Paris Olympic Games at the end of Week 2 of the Volleyball Nations League, the Italian national team is now preparing for the third phase of the international competition, which will see the Azzurri on stage in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Week 3 of VNL will prove decisive for the teams that are still looking for the Olympic pass in view of the Paris Games this summer and for qualification for the Finals of the VNL itself.

Italy – currently first in the VNL rankings with 7 victories and 21 points – has secured the possibility of participating in the Olympics thanks to the 118.66 point advantage in the rankings over Cuba, the first non-qualified national team.

In this last week the Azzurri will face Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia and finally Turkey, with the first match scheduled for tomorrow evening at 8.30pm.

Also among those called up are the brothers Luca and Paolo Porro, spiker from Padua and playmaker from Milan, who will play together for the first time, the last time in an Under12 match. There are 12 appearances for Luca, making his senior debut this year, 6 for Paolo, made last year, both winning in their respective careers with the youth national teams.
